Montecristo Classic

I Stopped by the Tobacco Patch on St. Patrick's Day to say "hello" to the gang. Perfect night to sit outside and enjoy a cigar. As an added bonus you could watch all the Irish on their way over to the Wilde Rover Irish Pub, it's just a few doors down.  Anyone make it over there for St. Patrick's Day? That was definitely the place to be this year! What a zoo, and I mean that in a good way! What, maybe a thousand people showed up? Holy Crap!

Anyway, no cigar for me on Thursday - I have to adhere to my "no smoking Monday through Thursday" policy. Don't ask, it's just something I do...

So Friday, Cigar Night, of course it was pouring down rain, so we skipped Kirkland and drove up to the casino to gamble a bit, but more importantly, enjoy a fine cigar - INDOORS! Speaking of inside, I was over at Rain City Cigars in Georgetown yesterday and they told me that HB 1683 is still alive and well. Currently it's in the House Ways and Means Committee. Could be interesting if this Bill passes...

Anyway, always a good time up at the Lit. One thing that stands out about this place is that they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Technically, you could probably sit there all night and never buy a drink or a cigar and they would still treat you as if you were the most important person in the room. No kidding! You can see why it's so busy, especially on the weekends. Nice job Josh! (El Jefe)

Saturday night was actually quite nice outside, but we decided to stay home and have our cigars out on the deck instead of going down to the Patch. We have a pretty good setup here on our back deck - fireplace, patio heater, comfortable chairs, music, plus the bathroom is only steps away...

We started the evening with an Oliva, but finished with a Montecristo Classic. Not a bad cigar at all.

I reviewed this one last year as well: Montecristo

My views haven't changed really, still a very good smoke - kind of a nice change from an Oliva.

I wanted to let you know that their promotion is still going on, but not for much longer.

Good read.

I wasn't able to get any cigars in over the weekend. Had that wedding on Saturday and was tired as all hell since I worked earlier in the day. Sunday I finished up a final research paper for school and now done with classes till the 4th.

Got a cigar in before class on Monday. I had a Gran Habano Vintage 2002. I still need to let them dry out a bit, still a bit wet. But they're pretty tasty.

Got some more info on the Seattle Cigar Expo. I'll try to email ya some of the info soon. Tickets go on sale next week, so their site will probably up and running next week.

Thanks for the info Chris!

BTW, I just bought a digital hygrometer for my humidor, thought it might be a little too dry inside, cigars were cracking. Turns out the humidity was only 55%, so I went out and bought a couple of Boveda humidipaks last night. Let's see if it makes a difference.

I need to get another digital hygrometer for my new humidor. I took the one out of my older one and put it in the new one for now, it's doing great.

Both humidors are full, haha. I need to start smoking more cigars.

By the way, did you pick up the new issue of Cigar Aficionado? It has a coupon for a free cigar in it. So I went and picked up a mag. Just need to go get the cigar now.

I subscribe to Cigar Aficionado, so I've already used the coupon up at the Lit Lounge - they've got the N Series up there. Great cigar, but kind of a nicotine bomb!

Nice. Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to take my time with it. We all know how La Gloria's can be, we saw how my brother was being a wuss, haha. I'm on my patio right now having one of the Entubars from B&A. Pretty good so far.

Can't pass up this weather and not have a cigar.

Perfect day for it - enjoy!
