La Gloria Cubana Event

Join us Friday, April 27th from 6-9pm as we are joined by Michael Giannini, brand director for La Gloria Cubana. We're one of only 25 national accounts he's visiting on the Retro Tour to promote the new La Gloria Cubana Artesanos Retro Especiale cigar.

This is a great chance to meet one of the true stars of the cigar industry and get some great deals on all our La Gloria Cubana cigars. He'll be bringing with him some unreleased, experimental blends to try, along with some cool giveaways, including La Gloria Guayabera shirts and limited edition cigar art prints that Mr. Giannini will be signing at the event.

Brickhouse Bash

On Thursday, May 3 from 6-9pm, we'll be hosting a Brickhouse Bash at Lit!

Our friend Rick from JC Newman Cigars will be on hand with some great deals on the critically acclaimed Brickhouse cigar line.

Voted one of the top 25 cigars in the world by Cigar Aficionado, Brickhouse is also a killer value in the $5-$7 price range.

This is the perfect cigar to stock up on for the Summer, and we'll be giving 8 free sticks with each box purchase, bringing the price down to as low as $4.16/stick!

Protect Cigars from FDA Regulation!

If you haven't heard, the FDA is looking to regulate cigars in the same way they do cigarettes.

This could have some drastic consequences for the cigars you love, including no more walk-in humidors, graphic warning labels, and worst of all, rigorous testing of cigar blends that would do away with the variety and complexity of premium cigars. Please take a moment to read this petition on the White House website, register and sign the petition.

Once you register, you'll receive an email (it may go to your junk box) which will allow you to sign the petition. Thanks for your help on this important issue!

Happy Smoking!

Casa Fuente Reserva Superior Limitada

Another nice weekend here in the Pacific Northwest, perfect weather for enjoying a fine cigar "outdoors!"

We were down at the Tobacco Patch on Friday night, quite a good turn out, saw a few guys that I haven't seen in ages. It was fun, plus this was probably the first Friday night that we didn't freeze our butts off!

Anyway, a couple of weeks back, Kirkland #1 Chris was over at the house for the cigar get-together and he brought along a beautiful box of Casa Fuente cigars that he had picked up in Las Vegas the week before.

Yeah, I had to have a couple...

Casa Fuente Reserva Superior Limitada
Corona Gorda — 5 5/8 x 46

So I smoked the first one the week before with the gang at the cigar get-together, and the second was down at the Patch on Friday night.

So what did I think?
I remember saying to Chris at the get together: "Oh man, this is an excellent cigar!"

Yeah, I loved it! Very smooth taste, perfect burn, and a good draw! Actually, the draw might be a little tight compared to say an Alec Bradley Tempus, which I just smoked on Sunday, but it still delivers plenty of rich smoke. BTW, that Tempus is one helluva smoke bomb - and I mean that in a good way!

Would I buy one again? Well, seeing how you can only buy these in Vegas I'd have to say "hell yes!" Damn good cigars!

Thanks Chris for bringing the box over!

K-land Cigar Night

As you can probably imagine it's next to impossible to plan an outdoor get-together here in the Pacific Northwest - the weather is too unpredictable, but last Wednesday I saw a glimmer of hope in the projected weather outlook for the weekend: Saturday and Sunday, NO CHANCE OF RAIN!

Oh boy! I crossed my fingers and shot off a few emails to my cigar buddies to see if they wanted to swing by on Saturday night for cigars and drinks.

Well, this was one of those rare occasions when everything seemed to work out OK! I don't think I could have picked a more perfect evening for a cigar event.

Great friends, excellent cigars, comfortable surroundings, plenty to eat and drink - what more could I ask for?

 Few photos...

Already looking forward to the next K-land Cigar Night! It was fun!

Side notes:
Kirkland #1 Chris - thanks for bringing those My-T-Fine cigars! Glad I grabbed two of them off you. I plan on smoking No.2 this weekend.

Brian - Don't worry about the deck, I'm going to fix it this weekend - piece of cake.

A little story for you...

My friend Josh, the manager of the Lit Lounge, had a "March Madness poll" on the Lit's Facebook page recently. I didn't realize it at the time, but there was a prize involved. Guess who won?

So on Friday night while we were enjoying a fine cigar and drink up at the Lit Lounge, Josh stopped by our table to present me with the winning cigar. I wish I would have looked at the cigar a little more closely when he handed it to me - HOLY SHEETO! He gave me one helluva nice cigar! JEEZus, Thank-you Josh!

Which leads me to the review:

Partagas Serie P No.2 Torpedo - Habana

I'll get right down to the bottom line: Stellar!

You know how I'm always saying that Cuban cigars are way overrated. Well, just shoot me - this cigar is worthy of the bandera Cubana. Excellent smoke all around. Silky smooth, medium bodied, maybe more on the mild side, but in my opinion it's one of the best mild cigars that I've had in a long, long time.

Burn was perfect, draw good, and plenty of smoke on each puff. Even the wifey-poo thought it was exceptional!

I paired it with a glass of Oban single malt scotch (on the rocks) and some dark organic chocolate. Yeah, interesting combo, but this dark chocolate had an intense coffee flavor to it, really brought out the richness of the cigar. And of course the Oban was the perfect way to cleanse the pallet, so to speak.

God, what a great way to end an exceptionally busy weekend. Thanks again Josh - I know you really didn't have to, but your kindness is greatly appreciated! Keep up the good work my friend!

Side note: Kirkland #1 Chris - looking forward to smoking one of those Casa Fuente cigars with you and hearing more about your trip to Vegas! Must have been ʎzɐɹɔ¡
