ROMEO & Partagas Black Label Weekend

I had a chance to smoke both of these over the weekend and I've got to tell you that I liked the Partagas Black Label considerably more than the new ROMEO cigar. Why? Taste! Back-to-back the Partagas is a powerhouse of smooth full-bodied kick-ass flavor. No comparison between the two. I found the ROMEO to be just another RyJ - I'll smoke it, but definitely not going out of my way to buy one.
(BTW, thanks Kevin for the ROMEO)
;)

Still waiting for summer to start - this has been a pretty crappy June...

Oliva V Lancero

Quick review for you today:

Oliva V Lancero
(7" x 38)

Pencil thin, Churchill size, firmly wrapped.

So what did I think?
Meh... It was OK. Medium to full bodied, little peppery at times. Draw was  too tight - really didn't get the amount of smoke that I like without puffing the crap out of it.

Would have liked this cigar a lot more had I not smoked an Oliva Serie G right after it. Yeah, the Serie G is one of my favorites.

Would I buy one again?
Actually, my friend Nathan gave me this cigar a few weeks back. I like the V series, just not a big fan of the Lancero.

And life goes on....

ACTION ALERT - KING COUNTY OUTDOOR SMOKING BAN

ACTION ALERT

KING COUNTY COUNCIL SEEKS TO BAN OUTDOOR SMOKING!

As if the total indoor smoking ban is not draconian enough, the King County Council now wants to ban all tobacco use (cigarettes, cigars, pipes & chewing tobacco) in all King County parks and recreational areas. The county operates 200 parks and 175 miles of regional trails.

The proposal would help reduce littering of cigarette butts (no matter that we already have litter laws) and health problems associated with secondhand smoke, (impossible to quantify in an outdoor environment) county official says.

Read the text of the proposed ban here: http://mkcclegisearch.kingcounty.gov/custom/king/legislation.htm

If you would like to help stop this latest ban, please contact the King County Council.
By phone: 206-296-1000
By e-mail: council@kingcounty.gov

Find your King County Council member here:
http://www.kingcounty.gov/council/councilmembers.aspx

Your voices need to be heard! The forces of anti-tobacco are already pushing the council members hard for passage of this ban. The council will vote on this ban next week. Let them know that this is not reasonable or good public policy.
