KING COUNTY COUNCIL SEEKS TO BAN OUTDOOR SMOKING!
As if the total indoor smoking ban is not draconian enough, the King County Council now wants to ban all tobacco use (cigarettes, cigars, pipes & chewing tobacco) in all King County parks and recreational areas. The county operates 200 parks and 175 miles of regional trails.
The proposal would help reduce littering of cigarette butts (no matter that we already have litter laws) and health problems associated with secondhand smoke, (impossible to quantify in an outdoor environment) county official says.

Your voices need to be heard! The forces of anti-tobacco are already pushing the council members hard for passage of this ban. The council will vote on this ban next week. Let them know that this is not reasonable or good public policy.
