Curivari El Gran Rey Belicosos

I don't want to jinx it, but I don't think we've ever had a summer quite as nice as this one. Rumor has it that the last few months have actually been drier here than Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Amazing, but true. I wonder if this is what it feels like to live in Southern California? Doubt it...

Anyway, we were down at the Tobacco Patch on Friday night for the Drew Estate event - pretty good turnout and of course the weather was perfect. I bought a few of the Liga Privada Undercrown sticks as well as a flavor infused cigar for my lovely bride. Met the Rep for Drew Estate too - nice guy!

Couple items coming up soon:

The Washington Cigar and Spirits Festival coming up on Saturday, the 13th. I'm sure you've heard me mention it a few times? Boy, if you haven't bought your tickets by now, you might be outta luck. Check the link to see if tickets are still available. I'll be there along with the rest of the Kirkland gang. Should be fun, fun, fun!!!

Also a little further down the line, coming up November 3rd, The 10-7 Bond Night Eventwhich I'm really looking forward to! A black-tie Gala for the true 007 cigar smoking fanatic, like me!

OK, so one real quick review of the Curivari El Gran Rey cigar. This was given to me by a good friend and I'm just now getting around to checking it out.

Basically it's a full-bodied Nicaraguan cigar that I didn't really care for it when I first lit it up, but the next thing I knew I just couldn't put the sucker down. What's up with that? The exceptionally smooth full flavor, plus loads of rich smoke seemed to grow on me. Next thing I knew the white ash was burning my fingertips. Really a good cigar.

Would I buy one again? Well, I didn't actually buy this one, but with so many cigars out there to choose from, honestly I'd have to say, Yes, I would! Kind of a nice change for me. ;)

Side note:
Congrats to my friend Nathan for the new addition to the family! Job well done amigo!

The 10-7 Event looks interesting. I'm going to see if I can make that. I have a football game to go to the next day but the event doesn't go too late into the evening to where I'd be out all night. The drive home from Fife is the only issue. I don't have a tux, but I do have a black suit I could wear with a regular tie. That would be ok wouldn't it?

I haven't smoked too much lately since I've been up to other things. I did smoke a cigar while doing some lawn work the other weekend. I took out one of the few Oliva V's I have left. They've got some age on them and boy it was the best one I've had in a long time. The prelight aroma was pretty weak but once I fired it up, it tasted great. I'll have to pick up some more Oliva's soon. The Special G's are a nice short smoke too. Hope to see you soon, if not, I'll see you at the event up at the Casino.

Black suit with a black tie would work perfect! Yeah, Fife is a little haul for you, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. :)

Been a while indeed since I've seen you my friend. Supposed to be nice this weekend, maybe we'll hook up?

I will see what I can do. I believe my suit has a bit of a pin stripe to it, black on black. I'll have to get a white shirt since I don't have one. All my other shirts have some color in them, wouldn't look right with a black tie.

I do have the pimpin' 3 piece brown suit that I wore on NYE at the casino. I have a gray suit too.

Wear the pimpin 3 piece brown suit - I'm sure that will work just fine!
